Lantern Parades

Magical lanterns are a key feature of many nighttime and winter outdoor events. We create spectacular large willow sculptures, giant illuminated puppets, Chinese silk lanterns and special lanterns for Diwali parades. We also run seasonally, leader training and masterclasses for artists, practitioners, teachers and adult volunteers.
Our small individual lanterns are made of willow and tissue paper and are very simple to make. The process can be undertaken in a single session or over a series of 3 or 4 short classes. The lanterns can be hand held, carried on bamboo canes or wheeled and pulled if size dictates. In the dark of a winter’s eve they create an enchanting effect and enhance any out door event. Contact us if you would like to learn how to make them.
Over the past few years we have supported lantern parade events in Ventnor, Ryde, St Helens, Newport, Gunville and in Southampton, as well as delivering extensive community workshops for our own Dark Nights spectacle. There are a number of other lantern parades and illuminated carnivals across the Island every November and December.
